Hello Tobydox I now know the problem of error 87 ... but I don't know how to solve it yet ... the error occurs if I am connected in RDP on the machine on which I am installing Veyon. if I am physically connected to the machine no more error 87 problem. From the information I could read, this is related to graphics driver problem ... But you have necessarily done something about the graphics settings since until version 4.5.4.3 this does not pose a problem in RDP. Fred

What's the output of systemctl status veyon? Maybe you need to enable the Veyon Service via systemctl enable veyon?

@studentloans999 Did you change the access group of the public key file to "Guest" or "Everyone" after importing? BTW the authentication test will only work on the master computer since it tests whether a private key file is readable and matches the public key file, so it's not an error if it "fails" on the client computers.

Have you installed all available Windows updates? The AcceptSecurityContext call has been an issue with certain updates 1 or 2 years ago. As a workaround you can enable the Use alternative user authentication mechanism option in the Windows configuration page in Veyon Configurator after enabling the advanced settings (View -> Advanced).

Have you verified that the key pair IDs are identical on all computers? Did you set the access group for public and private key files properly? The public key file needs to be readable by everyone/guest on all computers while the private key file should be accessible by Veyon Master users on the teacher computers.

Hi, There is a way, besides of Veyon which could meet easily your need, and give you ideas : BGinfo. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/bginfo This is a small exe launched automaticaly at each start up of a computer and stopped immédiately after : function : create a desktop wallpaper with the information you may need, color wished etc... Then you can have: user name, host, group, IP, MAC... you can chose position and size of all this. for me top right, about 1cm height characters (i can see them in real from my desk and from veyon also) [image: 1618611333680-bginfo.png] Good luck

@tobydox said in Veyon for endless os: AFAIK Flatpak does not support systemd services (only systemd user units supported). However the Veyon Service is required to run with root privileges and interact with the systemd logind manager. So all we could package is Veyon Master which wouldn't help that much since you'd always have to install the Veyon Service (and Veyon Configurator) additionally. oh... Was about to ask the same thing about using a Snap package but I'm guessing it would be the same.

Reviving this thread as this is the only one i can find on the matter, but i've been having this same issue, too. At first, staff would log in to veyon Master with their own account, but i realised that students being monitored by Veyon were able to bypass the Student Web Filter on our Fortigate Firewall because the firewall saw the teachers logon session on the DC and it looks like the teacher has now logged on and is assigned the profile. To bypass this, i have had to create a generic account for use with Veyon which is set as a student, so this retains the student webfilter, however i can see all the different entries from different devices on the firewall from this user. @tobydox said in Students bypassing filtering: the Veyon Server/Service on the client computers check the teacher's credentials by performing a temporary internal user logon with the teacher's username and password. However it does not initiate a real user sessions so I wonder why your firewall recognizes the teacher as being logged on Are you able to expand on this ^^^? Because the veyon user logon event shows up in the DC's event logs (which are monitored by the firewall to assign user sessions) and there seems to be no difference in this logon to any other domain user logon. The workstations are only checked for logoff events, as these don't appear on the DC. As far as the firewall is concerned, whenever a client computer is connected to, the logged on user has changed, as this is now the latest logon event seen on the DC for that device.

@tobydox I don't see where to add the parameter. I switched to advanced mode, under "service" I don't see any place to add a parameter under the VNC server section.

Unfortunately there are limitations by the VNC protocol which could lead to the latencies you've described. Where do you observe the latencies? In the monitoring view with thumbnails or also while remote controlling/viewing a computer?
