    As a workaround for monitoring audio you could install Stream What You Hear onto the client computers.

    http://www.streamwhatyouhear.com/download/

    Use the SWYH HTTP Live Streaming option and a player like Media Player Classic Home Cinema.

    In SWYH settings choose a specific HTTP port and automatically run on log in.

    From the MPC-HC File menu select Open File then enter the client computer streaming URL:
    http://ip-address:port/stream/swyh.mp3 or http://computername:port/stream/swyh.mp3

    Audio playing on the chosen client computer will be heard on the Veyon master computer.

    From a command prompt:
    "C:\Program Files\MPC-HC\mpc-hc64.exe" http://10.62.64.75:5901/stream/swyh.mp3
    "C:\Program Files\MPC-HC\mpc-hc64.exe" http://LABx64075:5901/stream/swyh.mp3

    A suggestion would be to create a folder of player shortcuts on the desktop, one for each client computer either by name or IP.

    It went to Demo, showed my screen for a few second on a couple of the 7 students logged in a lab of 26 clients. Then, Demo stopped working even on the couple that did get my screen.
    I was able to back out of Demo mode with out crashing their computer.

    Currently you can only block Internet access completely using the Internet Access Control add-on. However it allows configuring exceptions (statically) such as local or intranet sites so these sites stay reachable while the Internet access is blocked. In a future release this year, we'll add a blacklisting features, so teachers can easily block the access to specific sites, e.g. video platforms.

    It looks like there's a problem with the Veyon Server interacting with the internal VNC server (the failed to set socket timeout(0) message is also suspicious). Did you enable multi session mode in the Service settings? If so, can you disable it? Otherwise, try to enable it for testing. Can you alternatively install UltraVNC separately and configure the Veyon Service to use an external VNC server? Just to make sure it's not a problem with the builtin UltraVNC server.

    I also wonder that the thumbnails do work and remote control isn't. Both functions use the same technique and settings for connecting to the computer. Is there any TCP connection limit configured client side?

    @tobydox I have the same problem with LinuxMint (which is based on Ubuntu 20.4). The service veyon seems to be running properly, but telnet localhost 11100 says Unable to connect to remote host: Cannot assign requested address, and the message on the Master "veyon service unreachable or not running".

    The same problem happened with version 4.3.1 which is the one packaged on ubuntu-20.04, and the same happens with the latest release downloaded from veyon.io.

    @gerardo-systems You should try to install the Veyon package from our PPA: https://launchpad.net/~veyon/+archive/ubuntu/stable/ After installing you can run Veyon Configurator to configure the local installation. If you're running X11-based sessions the Veyon Server should be started automatically for user sessions.

    Hello. I am a computer teacher. I manage a total of 15 different laboratories with veyon. Everything looks great so far but I have 2 problems.

    1- I can't access computers with mac address. I can only access by ip address

    2- I can send files to all computers, but I cannot collect files from all computers as in Netsupport. How can I do that ? The only difference between the netsupport veyon is the feature. When is this feature?

    @achar74 There'll be various improvements for accessing the systemd session information via DBus in 4.7.3. It will be released next week so stay tuned (alternatively you can test the current test build packages available at https://github.com/veyon/veyon/releases/download/v4.7.2/veyon_4.7.2-31-ubuntu-bionic_amd64.deb and https://github.com/veyon/veyon/releases/download/v4.7.2/veyon_4.7.2-31-ubuntu-focal_amd64.deb). Possibly this also fixes your issues.

    I'd like to second that:
    We are using specific exam accounts in our exams and can log those in from the Veyon Master. We even have a nice excel sheet to place the students on the right PCs and everything. If you could "feed" Veyon something like a CSV with maybe PC;username;password to log all in this would be a huge help.

    @Barreira I'm pretty sure it's bad code. There's a post on github about this too, and I posted earlier on this forum as well.

    So far no responses at all. It's definitely a security issue, and interferes with Excel.

    Hallo, ich habe das selbe Problem ... ich rolle Veyon über Microsoft Intune aus, leider funktioniert die automatische Übernahme der Konfiguration (Schlüsselauthentifizierung) nicht wie in der Dokumentation beschrieben ... - am Client kommt das immer als Anmeldeauthentifizierung an - und somit ist kein Zugriff möglich (Rechner wird rot angezeigt). Wenn ich händisch die Konfiguration und den Schlüssel importiere, dann geht es ... ist aber keine Option ...
    Ich bräuchte eine klare Anleitung, wie die automatische Übertragung der Konfiguration und des Schlüssels über Intune funktioniert ... ich teste schon Tage herum und kommen nicht weiter
    Bitte um Hilfe!
