Veyon Master crashes when a client computer shuts down
-
Apologies if this is just a configuration issue - I'm new to Veyon so can't compare with an earlier version.
I'm experiencing the Veyon Master crash relatively frequently (running 4.1.0 on both Master and clients). Seems to be triggered when a computer running the client service shuts down. Have tried the master on a couple of different computers. Windows 10 for both Master and client computers, AD for computer room configuration and user authentication.
I'm not seeing anything in the log files to go on. Any guidance would be much appreciated.
Thanks :-).

Hello all,
I just did an evaluation of Veyon today and can confirm this issue on Win10 and Win7 systems. Veyon master crashes often if the client goes down - even if the shutdown is issued by the master. Other than that it is a wonderful system.
I'ld be very interested in a solution too
Have a lot of fun

Also, it looks like it is definitely a shut-down that causes this. I can restart the service itself on the client computers with no impact.

@brad-mcclintock thanks for the feedback and for opening the issue at https://github.com/veyon/veyon/issues/387 - I'll have a look at it.

Whoever encounters the same issue is invited to try the unofficial test build available at https://github.com/veyon/veyon/files/2257896/veyon-4.1.0.12-win64-setup.zip - please upgrade both teacher and and student computers.

Thanks @tobydox , I haven't been able to test this extensively yet but the one master/client that I have access to at the moment is behaving perfectly stably on a restart with that updated version installed. Will be in a better position to test this more thoroughly tomorrow.

Yes, this is definitely resolved with that 4.1.0.12 build. Thank you
