Windows 10 clients wont connct

I am setting up a new installation. I have 10 windows 10 machines and 5 Windows 7 machines. All of the machines have identical windows images 7/10 respectively. The master is on Windows 10 and connected to Active Directory and shows all 15 computers. All of the Windows 7 machines show as connected with a desktop and i can control them. The windows 10 machines are Red or Gray.
On the clients i ran the installer and unchecked master. I did nothing else to them. On the master, i am using Logon Authentication I have not implmented keys. Trying to figure out why windows 10 clients wont connect.

Ok, I have tried connecting a cable directly to the Windows 10 machines, I got the correct message on telnet and checked the firewall to allow all ports for veyon and setup by the installer. I am connecting via ldap groups. all windows 10 computers are showing gray or red. where to look next.

@jrpfahl Can you please start Configurator on an affected client, set the log level to "Debug", clear the log files and reboot. After attempting a connection to the client please open
C:\Windows\Temp\VeyonServer.logon the client and look for possible failure messages (i.e. search forperformLogonAuthentication). -
I will try this, thank you. Just as a troubleshooting measure, I clicked remote control in the main nav bar, typed the IP of the client and connected to the desktop. However, if i right click the client in the client section and hit remote control it wont connect. And in both cases it shows a gray icon computer offline or switched off. So i can connect but the status of the icon shows i cant.

Thank you for the information! It appears everything is OK client side. The next step is to elaborate the VeyonMaster log files (%TEMP%/VeyonMaster.log) when viewing a single affected client.
Besides that we just released Veyon 4.2 Beta with various fixes and improvements regarding client connections so it could be worth a try to see if this release fixes your issue. Alternatively can you try to connect with a Veyon 4.0.x master?

I feel that there is something to do with Windows 10 compatibility. I have just purchased 45 Dell Computers with Windows 10 Education 1709. Not a single one running 4.2 will reveal the desktop in the Thumbnail. All the Windows 7 machines with an identical setup are working perfectly.
