Xbox Game Bar (Win + G) overlay not visible in Veyon Master – screen capture issue
-
Hello,
I'm using Veyon 4.11.4 in a school computer classroom to monitor students' screens.
I've noticed that when students press Win + G to open the Windows Xbox Game Bar, the Game Bar overlay is not visible in Veyon Master.
The students can see and interact with the Xbox Game Bar on their computers, but Veyon Master continues to display their normal desktop, as if the overlay were not open.
I've already tried changing the UltraVNC screen capture settings:
"UltraVNC": {
"CaptureLayeredWindows": "true",
"Configured": "true",
"LowAccuracy": "false",
"PollFullScreen": "true"
}Unfortunately, this did not solve the problem.
My questions:
Is this a known limitation of Veyon's screen capture implementation?
Is there a way to capture Windows overlays such as Xbox Game Bar?
Can Veyon use a different screen capture method that supports these overlays?
Are there any additional configuration settings I could try?
If capturing the overlay is impossible, is there a way for Veyon Master to detect or notify the teacher when a student opens Xbox Game Bar?
My main goal is to ensure that students cannot use Xbox Game Bar without it being visible to the teacher during lessons.
Any suggestions or possible workarounds would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your help!
