1:1 Windows Laptop Management with Network Discovery
-
We are trying to sort out if we can use Veyon with devices that travel, and therefore will be part of different management groups throughout the day based on the courses they are in.
We've been able to confirm that it looks like the Network Discovery Add On is a our best bet to be able to potentially create flexible groups of devices outside of an AD/LDAP scope.
I can see that once I select a group of devices in the discovery view, I can export that list to CSV, but there doesn't seem to be a place in the interface where teachers could "bookmark" these custom lists, or upload the CSV, so they can, for example, easily select their period one student devices to manage after they have initially identified the devices currently "in the room".
Perhaps there are instructions I'm missing that someone could point me to. In essence we were thinking we might be able use "location" as a proxy for "class". In this model devices would need to be housed within multiple "locations" simultaneously for this to work (ie: a student laptop would be in 4 different "classes/locations" thoughout the day: Period 1-4).
The laptops are managed through inTune if that adds additional options or attributes to tether to.
Thanks in advance for any insights you might be able to offer on managing devices that move from room to room.
