Demo mode sluggish

When I use the full screen demo mode or windowed mode to share the instructor desktop with students, the response on student stations is very sluggish for any embedded videos. Machines are all connected via switches in a LAN with Gigabit bandwidth. Is multicasting being used? Can't figure out why it is so sluggish.
