Veyon launch application variables in path?

Hello there, I might just be real stupid today but I am trying to launch an application, file or program from the deskop of the monitored users. Sending files to the desktop with the "%HOME%\Desktop" path works as intended but it doesnt seem to work for launching applications (smth like: "%HOME%\Desktop\test.exe" , "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\test.exe". Am I misunderstanding or doing something wrong?
Absolute Paths like "C:\Users\Testuser\Desktop\test.exe" do work of course but that doesn't really help me.
