Veyon - Experiencing With High Latency On Highend Machines
-
Hello Veyon community and Tobydox,
I've been experiencing huge delay when using the Veyon software with 1 master and 19 client PC's however I still experience delay with only 2 client PC's and anywhere in between. The delay only occurs when using the full demo operation. The issue seems to be that the Veyon program is only using a single logical core of the 8 possible available.
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Is it because Veyon is not hyper thread compatible or is it a software issue?
Am I doing something wrong?
The specs of the machines being used are as bellow and its same hardware on master and client PC's:
HP Elitedesk
Windows 10 64bit
Intel Core i7-4770 3.40GHz
32.0GB RAM
1TB Hard drive (Storage)
300MB Harddrive (OS)Thanks in advance.

I also forgot to mention that I have tried the latest release 4.0.7 and the pre-release on all devices and still have the same issue.

Hi @northumbria123
thanks for testing Veyon! The demo server actually is hyper threaded but it looks like there's a bug/misbehaviour or bottleneck somewhere. What bandwidth does your network have? Are you using wired or wireless network connections? -
Thank you for your reply tobydox.
The lab is using a Cisco catalyst 3650 gigabit switch with all devices directly connected through the gigabit switch. I have tried using other switches that we have available including a fast Ethernet one and still have the same issue.
I am currently using Italc 2.0 and this has no issues what so ever with the current lab/class setup, so I feel it may be a software issue with veyon.
Please update me if you create a fix as I am keen to upgrade back to the veyon software as soon as possible.
Or if you have any further troubleshooting steps I am more than happy to give those ago to.
Kind regards,
Northumbria123

update
Currently using italc 3.0.3 on a 60 client and 1 master in a single lab using the same HP machines and same cisco switches.
Seems to be no issues when using italc and tightVNC.
If you have any recommendations for me let me know as I am keen to switch to a supported software like veyon.
