Guacamole and Veyon
-
Hi,
Is it possible to have users connected remotely using Guacamole and have the Veyon service running at the same time? Using guacamole and and internet facing proxy but would like to have an on prem Veyon Master to access the systems that users are accessing via Guacamole.

I know this is an old request, but yes you can.
If you install Veyon to run in "active session" mode, Veyon will see the RDP session.
My issue is I would love to see the Guacamole Login name displayed alongside the computername in Veyon. -
If the Guacamole login name is stored in an environment variable or registry key, you can configure Veyon Service to read this variable/key and provide it as session metadata to Veyon Master. Then in advanced view mode in Veyon Configurator you can change the "Computer name source" to "Session meta data" and should then see the contents of the variable/key instead of the computer name below the thumbnail (requires Vexyon 4.9.3 or newer)

@tobydox how would that even work? We have our guacamole server set up for RDP sessions, and for simplicity's sake we have every single laptop/VM set up with the exact same RDP credentials, how would we pass through the Guacamole login name or student name in guacamole as an environment variable?
