You can easily export the configuration from the "old master" and import it on the new master. Additionally you might have to export the private and public authentication keys.

If the default RefNetworkObjectDirectory is used, all you need to do is add the appropriate locations and computers on the ConfLocationsAndComputers configuration page. Afterwards the added resources are available in Veyon Master. . .

I can only access by ip address 2- I can send files to all computers, but I cannot collect files from all computers as in Netsupport. How can I do that ? Hello @delvasse, Veyon also works without AD. In this case it's recommended to use the key file authentication method if you are connecting to multiple computers/servers since otherwise you'll have to create identical accounts on all computers.

@gerardo-systems You should try to install the Veyon package from our PPA: https://launchpad.net/~veyon/+archive/ubuntu/stable/ After installing you can run Veyon Configurator to configure the local installation. If you're running X11-based sessions the Veyon Server should be started automatically for user sessions.

That's an interesting feature but currently not implemented. Maybe the network discovery add-on would be useful in this case? It will however group/show all computers in the network so I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for.

I recommend installing the Debian package you can download at our website since they are more up to date and contain many bug fixes, especially regarding the server/service on Linux. Our official packages contain all components so you don't need individual packages. If you want to stick with the Debian packages, installing veyon-service is sufficient. You might need veyon-configurator if you want to configure the Veyon installation manually on the hosts. Alternatively use veyon-cli (which is part of the veyon-service package) e.g. to import a configuration file.

@le-mieux The packages provided by the Veyon project always include all components. However if you secured your Veyon installation properly (via proper authentication method and access control configuration) it should not be an issue to have Veyon Master installed on student computers as well since even if students launch it, they won't be able to access computers. Remember that even if you don't install the veyon-master package (which basically only contains the veyon-master binary) smart students will also be able to download the veyon-master binary and run it from their home folder.
