0 I want to install Veyon on the RPi4. I have read about Debian packages and the instructions. I had a look in my /etc/apt/sources.list and it had an entry for buster, so I added the line for Veyon Buster: deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/veyon/stable/ubuntu bionic main I then tried to run the command sudo add-apt-repository ppa:veyon/stable. .

Certain Veyon features can only be disabled globally in the configuration (https://docs.veyon.io/en/latest/admin/reference.html#features) so if student workers work on computers different from the lab management staff, you could deploy a modified Veyon configuration on these computers. Restricting functionalities to certain groups however is currently not possible.

Unfortunately ChromeOS support technically would be very difficult to implement and likely only possible by rewriting Veyon as a native Android app. Linux apps on ChromeOS are running in a sandbox so even if it's possible to start the process itself, it would be impossible for the Veyon Server to access the screen data.

@tobydox said in Veyon for endless os: AFAIK Flatpak does not support systemd services (only systemd user units supported). However the Veyon Service is required to run with root privileges and interact with the systemd logind manager. So all we could package is Veyon Master which wouldn't help that much since you'd always have to install the Veyon Service (and Veyon Configurator) additionally. oh... Was about to ask the same thing about using a Snap package but I'm guessing it would be the same.

@asshadiqi Hi, the bios option is probably configured as you mention. You can check the boot order by starting each machine in bios option mode. Then you will be able to put the hard drive in priority boot. Unless the PXE option is used for some other reason...

I do not yet know this product so all I can suggest is to try building Veyon from source on this platform and see how it works. In general compatibility with recent versions of all major Linux distributions is quite good.

Corrected: Missing backslash. To send the message use the Veyon ‘Run program’ feature and enter the following command: C:\Windows\System32\wscript.exe \\servername\sharename\Veyon\message.vbs

Welcome to our forum! You should try to install the Veyon package from our PPA: https://launchpad.net/~veyon/+archive/ubuntu/stable/ After installing you can run Veyon Configurator to configure the local installation. If you're running X11-based sessions the Veyon Server should be started automatically for user sessions.

Not until you find a security flaw in Windows or Veyon itself - and if you do so, you are invited to report it so that it can be fixed
