Veyon packages for Debian 12 will be available with the upcoming 4.8.1 release very soon.

Current Veyon is not able to work outside of a LAN or VPN Environment. If Students could connect to school over VPN. The moment the connection is established the School has access. I propose to speak with the local IT. This kind of Information is basic.

hello. Yes everything works fine about the BIOS config and the ping. the problem come from the differences of the VLAn. If I am not in the same VLAN : VEYON refuse to wake up the machine. But in the same VLAn the machine wake up fine. Can't we configure many broadcast in VEYON to allow all the subnet ? any another idea?

I'd like to second that: We are using specific exam accounts in our exams and can log those in from the Veyon Master. We even have a nice excel sheet to place the students on the right PCs and everything. If you could "feed" Veyon something like a CSV with maybe PC;username;password to log all in this would be a huge help.

@rostock You can't do it with Veyon, you can do it with a separate app, you have to run it in Veyon. Download NirCmd from the NirSoft website: https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/nircmd.html To mute the sound, type the following command and press Enter: nircmd.exe mutesysvolume 1 To unmute the sound, type the following command and press Enter: nircmd.exe mutesysvolume 0 Make a bat, and done.

@liy770 What commands did you try? I think would be: ScreenLock sudo veyon-cli feature start [IP ADDRESS] ScreenLock Shutdown (tested and worked) sudo veyon-cli feature start [IP ADDRESS] PowerDownNow Power on a computer via Wake-on-LAN (WOL) sudo veyon-cli power on [MAC ADDRESS] For list all features: sudo veyon-cli feature list

I think a central install on a server where teachers get permissions to manage a classroom would be (especially from an admin point of view) highly preferable.

@linis I routinely have this challenge as well. When I stop DEMO, the students are locked out of their computer...non-responsive...or the START bar disappears. It seems that Windows 11 has Crashed. Sometimes clicking DEMO again, then back off works, but quite often, nearly every student in the classroom has to restart their computer. I am having to refrain from using Demo once again. Anybody else?

I'm using Ubuntu 22.04. When I turn on the computer (client) the login screen is projected on the Veyon Master, it shares normally. The names of the users appear, and it is possible to see it by logging in, that is, choosing the user and typing the password... After starting to login... the screen goes all black with the mouse arrow in the middle, and the status appears: Online and connected (no user logged in). It appears that no user is logged in. If you log in with the direct user when you turn on the computer, without having to type the password, it works normally. But, if I change the user, it stops working. It seems that the first user who turns on the machine is the one who will share it until it turns off. Thank you very much!
